Disney's Sleeping Beauty | Eyvind Earle

I'll always love Disney! Their films were the first visions to influence me to draw. Now I'm older I have a much greater appreciation for the beauty of the animation. Especially Sleeping Beauty and the beautiful paint work of Eyvind Earle. It was one of the most heavily crafter Disney films, taking almost a decade in production and being one of the first drawn, photographed and filmed in Super Technirama 70 widescreen. Pause the film at any given time and you'll have a flawless illustration in it's own right.
My favourite are definitely from the woodland scenes. The backgrounds and foliage are just beautiful, and I just adore the colour pallet. I think if I was to consider illustrating something like a children's book, these scenes would be a great influence.

Biddy the Hedgehog | Amarah Elizabeth @loveydoveinspiration via Instagram

Squee! This is too cute. Something simple but I love the composition, the colouring work and the use of a dark grey/brown paper. And who doesn't like a cute hedgehog I ask you??

Pocahontas | Liana Hee

I adore Liana Hee's style of illustration, her adorable pin up esq Disney princesses are just beautiful. Also her use of gouache paints! Something I've never used, but I really love the bright vivid colour she produces from it. Something else I need to try ...

Muliebrity | Bec Winnel

Bec Winnel is stunningly talented. I'm always very inspired by how soft her images are. She's prolific in Pencil Crayon, Watercolours and Pastels; the latter of which I have very little experience. I'd like to have another go with them soon ...

Child of Light | Ubisoft

Child of Light is one of THE most beautiful games I've ever played! I spent the whole time with my mouth hanging open. Beautifully enchanting just doesn't cover it.

Elle Wills

I do love monotone sketches, but I love how Elle Wills adds colour to her black and white pieces. She's got a really nice soft feel to her work. <3

Samantha Ravndal | Sanna Palm

I feel like I'm always trying to figure out a happy medium between cartoon and realistic! Sanna Palm dances the space between the two beautifully in this portrait of model Samanths Ravndal ...
